Barama donates, promises Laing Avenue fire victims more
Guyana Chronicle, 19 October 2007

BARAMA Company Limited, on Monday, made an initial donation, of
foodstuff and clothing, to four infants affected by the Laing Avenue
fire in Georgetown last week.

At the presentation, to Guyana Relief Council (GRC), Barama Chairman,
Mr. Girwar Lalaram also pledged a substantial amount of plywood and
sawn lumber to help the victims rebuild their homes.

Barama Community Liaison Officer, Ms. Mitzi Campbell was also present
at the handing over of the gifts.

Expressing regret at the loss and grief suffered through the disaster,
the Barama officials said they hoped their gesture would go a long way
towards alleviating the suffering.
