Will Port Kaituma be included in the hinterland roads programme?
Stabroek News, Saturday, September 22nd 2007

Dear Editor,

In your paper of the September 1, on page 3, I read of the $800 million
cabinet had agreed to allocate for hinterland road projects, but there
was no indication which hinterland roads would be covered in the
programme.

Recently we had two ministers from the government visiting Port
Kaituma. For years now we haven't had ministers and other officials
coming here, and up to now there is no pure water supply and when the
sun shines the roads are dust, and when it rains, they are slush,
especially at the shopping centre. The members of the community say
these officials only come here on excursion trips. We are hoping that
Port Kaituma roads will be included in the programme.

Yours faithfully,

Cecil DeAbreu
