Four supervisors at Barama Company Limited are scheduled to leave for
Malaysia this weekend for training in plywood technology and other
areas.

According to a press release from Guyenterprise, Supervisor at the
plant's finishing section Faye Bradshaw, Supervisor of the spreader
section Gail Ann Gravesande, Senior Super-visor of the maintenance
section Ferdinand Moore and Factory Superintendent Carlton Yarde will
be attending sessions at the Samtech Institute in Miri, Sarawak. Barama
said Yarde has been a member of staff for 10 years and the other
supervisors have served for 14 years each, contributing a total of 42
years to the company's success. Like other Malaysia-trained staff,
Barama said the group intends to return to the company to share the
skills and techniques they would have learned.

General Manager Girwar Lalaram said it is the company's policy to
expose all levels of its factory staff to advanced training in plywood
technology. Yarde will be attending sessions where the Malaysian method
of a no-waste level of 99% at their factories is taught. He said
another batch of workers is likely to be sent to Malaysia on this
group's return. Usually, staffers are sent to various factories in that
country for training in plywood, veneer and related manufacturing
processes. The group will also benefit from supervisory management
courses.

Lalaram and Human Resources Officer Patricia Griffith said the company
is determined to upgrade their employees' skill levels by investing in
cost-friendly training.
